JESUS IS SPEAKING FROM HEAVEN

It is axiomatic that if the Lord is speaking from heaven, He needs to be heard. He is not simply throwing out meaningless words! They are words addressed to humanity, designed to acquaint them with Himself, and lead them to glory. They are not words you add to the Bible, but words that enable you to understand the Bible--particularly the Gospel and its relevancy to you personally. The word to us concerning this heavenly instruction is clear. "See that ye refuse not Him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from heaven" (Heb 12:25). One more word! The word the Lord speaks to us is specific. "YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN" (Heb 12:26). This is a glorious promise to the faithful, and a solemn warning to the unfaithful. The entire universe has been blighted by sin, and is scheduled for destruction. We are informed of this fact in Scripture. It is taught to us by God, through Christ Jesus. When we have been instructed by the Lord on this matter, we make preparations appropriate for the event. When you are not taught by the Lord, you ignore the fact and live as though the world were going to last forever. The difference between those who are "ready" for the return of their Lord and those who are not is simply this: the prepared ones have NOT refused Him that is speaking from heaven. The unprepared HAVE refused Him! Understand, the Lord is speaking from heaven to prepare us for the end of all things. It will not be long, as faith counts time, until the "heavens shall pass away with a great noise; the earth also and the works that are therein, shall be burned up" (2 Peter 3:10-12). In view of the conclusion of things as we know them, it is imperative that we give heed to the speaking Lord. He will direct us safely to the other side, so to speak. Having made the transition from this world to the next, He knows the way, and can safely shepherd us there. But we must hear Him. Paul reminded the Ephesians of the speaking Jesus. "But you did not learn Christ in this way, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus" (Eph 4:20-21). Men may speculate about the speaking Jesus, theorizing about if He really does speak, and how it takes place. Such speculations are vain, inhibitive, and evidences of unbelief. Make it your business to hear Jesus. Set your mind on being cognizant of His Person and will. God can give ears to hear, and you can receive them.
