THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:16-17).

CONCLUSION

The "Gospel of Christ" is worthy of emphasis! It alone is "the power of God" in order to your salvation. Never let it become old, or judge it to be juvenile or elementary. While others squander their time dealing with what they conceive to be the issues, the Gospel is God's way of confronting the real issue!

Grace never takes you beyond the sound of the Gospel. Valid ministry will not lead you into other priorities. Godliness will never eliminate the need for the "glorious Gospel of the blessed God." Divine power cannot be found independently of the Gospel of Christ. There is not a level of spiritual life within which the Gospel loses its centrality.

Probe the Gospel with your heart and your mind--in that order! There is no subject more worthy of your attention. If the Gospel of Christ is the "power of God unto salvation," we do well to let it be our dominating consideration! To the extent the Gospel loses preeminence in our thinking, we will be powerless. To the extent it dominates our thinking, we will experience Divine power! The Gospel of Christ is truly glorious!

PRAYER POINT: Father, through Jesus Christ I thank you for a glorious, powerful, and sufficient Gospel.
